Clothing Hacks: Eight Ways to Make Your Clothes Last Longer

“A bookshelf is as particular to its owner as are his or her clothes; a personality is stamped on a library just as a shoe is shaped by the foot.” –Allan Bennet

Clothes are a way of expressing ourselves—a medium of self-expression if you may.
In this regard, we ought to take better care of them. However, clothes do not last long—no matter their brand—if they are inappropriately handled and not taken care of. Apart from taking note of its care instructions, you should also keep in mind the way you fold, handle and properly keep them in your wardrobes. How you take care of your clothes ultimately determines how long they are going to last. So, if you want your wholesale diamond supply or any clothes at all to last you long then you ought to keep in mind these clothing preserving tricks:

Hang your sweaters differently
You should not hang your sweaters like you do hang your shirts. Doing it like you hang your shirts tends to stretch the neck and shoulder parts of your sweaters which makes them loose over time. So, either you fold them in the hanger appropriately or you fold them as is and keep them in your drawers.

Throw out your wire hangers
Admittedly, wire hangers tend to last longer. Unfortunately, they are not as good for your clothes as other hangers are. These hangers tend to make your clothes lose their shape over time. With this in mind, swap out your wire hangers for felt ones which are better for clothes with delicate fabrics and would not leave any marks on the shoulders of your clothes. More importantly, they have excellent grips on fabrics and can fit better in your closets as they are generally thinner.

Do not dry clean too much
Dry cleaning might seem like an upgraded way to do your laundry but more often than not, it does not bode well for your clothes. Dry cleaning way too often tends to weaken the fabric of your clothes, so with this in mind, you should dry clean your clothes sparingly. Alternatively, only dry clean it when it says on the tag and avoid dry cleaning if the fabric is polyester, cashmere or nylon.

Your leather clothes are supposed to be hung
Do not make the mistake of keeping your leather clothes folded as this will lead them to crease and develop wrinkles. As you cannot iron leather, you have no recourse so you might as well hang your leather clothes. Hang them using a clip so that they will always remain in shape. If the clip marks both you, use cards to serve as a buffer between your clothes and the clips.

Avoid using clean bags to keep your clothes
Once you get your laundry from the cleaners, it is imperative that you remove the dry-cleaning bags as soon as possible. Your clothes need to remain fresh and keeping them in the plastic bags would be the opposite of that. Plastic bags tend to trap any odors and humidity making your fresh clothes smell bad. Similarly, you should not shove your hangers too closely with each other as this can result to wrinkles on your clothes.

Do not stuff your drawers with bras
Most of us just chuck our bras in a separate drawer and be on our merry way. However, doing so would ruin the shape of the cups of your bras. Instead, stack them up inside each other to help them retain their natural form. More importantly, it keeps your closet organized as well.

Do not machine dry your delicates
Whether your delicates may be a particular shirt or your lingerie, you should never machine dry them. Machine dryer heat is not good for any elastic in your delicates or clothes for that matter. In this regard, it is best to opt for having them dry on their own or hanging them underneath sunlight in such a way that they do not stretch out.

 Do not twist your swimsuits
Instead of twisting your swimwear to take out excess water (which makes them lose their shape), lay them down inside towels and pat dry them. Alternatively, you can get rid of the excess water by letting them dry on their own.
